About Me

IMG_6302.JPG

Hello, thanks for dropping by!

I'm Simon, part Canadian, part British. I have varied interests, from history, philosophy and nature, to various things cultural and stylish (and naturally, the people who cultivate such things). I tend to think the way we lived and thought ~120 years ago was probably about as good as it gets, pity that... Until recently I've been a  financial services worker in London who intends to take some time out to travel the Silk Road overland, whilst documenting the journey (among other things) on this little blog. This financially ill-advised venture will allow me to be more creative, to engage in my historical and cultural passions, and perhaps to enjoy a few eccentric moments; that is to say, whilst I won't have the budget to travel in the style of an 18th or 19th century traveler, baggage trains and all, I will try if I can and I will write about it. What a ridiculous idea... Perhaps it will prove a suitable antidote to these curious times we find ourselves living in.

I hope you enjoy following this blog as much as I will enjoy travelling and curating it (provided bureaucrats don't get in the way).
